A Berlin walk in the rain: keep it short and easy to change
A walk in Berlin can still be enjoyable in light rain when the route is short and easy to end. Choose connected streets with a convenient endpoint. An indoor visit can complement the outing, but do not assume that a passage is covered or a cafe is open without checking.
Check the weather for your actual time window
Look at the forecast shortly before leaving. The Berlin weather portal brings together forecasts, rain radar and warning information. A rain symbol for the whole day does not tell you much about the particular hour you want to spend outside.
If conditions become substantially worse, shorten or postpone the outing. Having saved a route does not oblige you to complete it. Choose a point in advance where you can reach public transport without a lengthy detour.
Fewer stops can make a better outing
Select one or two places with something specific to examine. A facade or street detail may remain interesting in changeable weather. A long comparison of historical images on your phone might be more enjoyable another day.
